A New Year… A New Face!

          Picking Up from where we left off, it surely is no News that Cross River University of Technology has a new Vice Chancellor in the person of Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh.

          Formerly the Provost, College of Education, Akamkpa, Cross River Nigeria, Prof Owan-Enoh popularly known as ‘Abobi’ by the students is changing the face of CRUTECH making her up as a bride would before walking the aisle. The V.C is currently rising up buildings faster than the Greek mythological god ‘Hades’ would conjure an army of the undead.

          The 2014/2015 Academic session began with an industrial action by labour unions in the University, an action that lasted for Five Months but those five months were not wasted, The V.C used those months to put up buildings that would benefit both Students and Staff of the Institution, Blocks ranging from Classrooms to Laboratories. The Vice Chancellor isn’t letting things go slow at the least, seen walking around every day, he personally supervises the on-going work making sure deadlines are met and the standard is maintained.

          Apart from the current pace of new appearing buildings, the old ones have not been left behind as ‘Abobi’ is updating, upgrading and renovating most of the buildings in the Institution. Moving around, eyes meet hordes of workers Painting, Splattering, Tiling or Plumbering. The School’s Hostel once in a state of total disarray now seems literally like Paradise. All Offices have been given Facelifts, Studios can once again be called Studios as they have been equipped to give the Students the education they so desire. CRUTECH currently isn’t just up to standard, she is beating the benchmark.

            Given the current pace of work, We are sure that CRUTECH will be, in the nearest future a true CITADEL OF LEARNING.
