Free In Chains.
By Anam. Esther
Seeking the hope we want,
If we lie still, we die still
We can’t find our dreams, so we begin to sink
Can’t deny life is worth much trouble
But I’d be damned if I do not struggle
Our hopes all dashed and the truths, all lies
The future for the younger generation
Can’t be seen, so we begin to scream!
Freedom this, freedom that
But where is the freedom we seek
Somewhere not far away
they say
I hope my prayers one
day would be answered
And the comfort I seek
would be served to me on a golden plate.
Shall I say I’m singing
the ‘BABALU’ song?
The one that never
exist
With a world like mine
That damns the sweetest
song anyone sings
Not with arms, but with
the words
That slices faster than
a knife
How can we say
we are free!
When all we see
is bondage
We shall never
cross that bridge
That links us to
the promise land
Except we decide
to let our soul free
Am hungry for
freedom
But my master
won’t feed me
So I say to myself,
be strong.
