Cohabitation; A Prerequisite For Disaster?
Cohabitation has to do with two unmarried people living together, often engaging in a romantic or sexual relationship on a permanent basis. However, cohabitation can also be different people living together and when different people cohabit, they co-exist. In line with the first definition, cohabitation is very rampant on campuses today. Students that involve in this act feel that if you are not committing the aforementioned with them, you are not among the 'elites' … What an abysmal perception!
This trend has caused a lot of havoc to both parties involved. Cohabitation has led a lot of female students to have children out of wedlock, leading to shattered dreams, confusion as well as rejection from family and colleagues. Most of them because of this have turned out to be school dropout, which is not God's plan for them. For some persons, cohabitation challenges good performance in their academics. Most of them don't even spend their energy in studying but rather spend their time and energy in sexual activities. Most of them don't even come for lectures again and instead of some young ladies spending their time reading, they spend their time in washing their boyfriend clothes, etc. Most of them suffer from health issues because of the sexual activities they involve themselves in, thereby making them to live on constant drugs, and they are students, they need money to sort out school stuff but instead use the money in buying drugs to maintain their lives. In conclusion, I think the cohabitation trend on our campuses barbaric and though many of the people involved in it are supposed to be the civilized (educated) ones, to me it's an indication of being not civilized.
